SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH Asia are premier international conferences on computer graphics and interactive techniques, collecting 20,000 and 7,000 participants every year, respectively. The technical papers accepted by these conferences are published in the ACM Transactions on Graphics (TOG), and are accessible in the ACM Digital Library. Among these papers, the paper presented in SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 by the group of Profs. Y. Kitamura, K. Ishiyama, and S. Hashi has been selected and listed on the front page of the ACM SIGGRAPH website as one of the three papers that they feel might be of particular interest to SIGGRAPH members. This paper proposes a real-time magnetic motion-tracking system using multiple identifiable, tiny, lightweight, wireless and occlusion-free markers. It enables measurements of dexterous motion of human’s hand and fingers; therefore, it can be applied to many fields in virtual reality
and 3D natural gesture interfaces.
