Laboratory for Brainware SystemsThe Laboratory for Brainware Systems of the Research Insti-tute of Electrical Communication was established in 2004 and renewed in 2014. Its purpose is to contribute to the research and development of advanced information science and tech-nology for Brainware systems which realize a seamless fusion of the changeable and complex real world and the cyber space.We aim at establishing scientific and technological founda-tions and at exploring human-like brainware computing appli-cations for Adaptive Cognition and Action Systems Division (Recognition and Learning Systems Group), Autonomous De-centralized Control Systems Division (Real-World Computing Group), Brainware LSI Systems Division (New Paradigm VLSI System Group), and brain architecture Division (planned). The Laboratory for Brainware Systems consists of the above four divisions which cooperatively carry out the research. At the same time, they serve as a laboratory for nation-wide cooper-ative research in the field of Brainware systems.The technology developed in the Laboratory is expected to enhance the research carried out in the four Divisions of the Institute, and the research conducted in the Divisions, in turn, is expected to provide scientific basis for the information technology developed in the Laboratory.Staff羽生 貴弘施設長（教授）Takahiro HanyuDirector, Professor「ブレインウェア研究開発施設」は、本研究所附属研究施設として平成16年4月の研究組織の改組・再編と同時にブレインウェア実験施設として新設され、その後、平成26年度概算要求の採択を機に、平成26年4月にブレインウェア研究開発施設と名称変更した。その目的は、電脳世界と時々刻々複雑に変化する実世界をシームレスに融合する次世代情報システムを、世界に先駆けて実現する基盤技術の創成とその応用分野を展開することである。そのために、本研究所及び本所と密接な関係にある本学電気・情報系の各研究分野の研究成果と全国のブレインウェア分野の研究者の英知を結集して研究を行う。この施設は、適応的認知行動システム研究部（認識・学習システム研究室）、自律分散制御システム研究部（実世界コンピューティング研究室）、脳型LSIシステム研究部（新概念VLSIシステム研究室）の3研究部構成に加えて、ブレインアーキテクチャ研究部の整備が予定されており、関連各研究分野の協力の下に、研究及び施設の運営を行う。Research Activities電気通信研究所 RIEC 2025／2026情報通信基盤研究部門Information Communication Platforms Division計算システム基盤研究部門Computing System Platforms Division人間・生体情報システム研究部門Human and Bio Information Systems Divisionナノ・スピン実験施設Laboratory for Nanoelectronics and Spintronicsブレインウェア研究開発施設Laboratory for Brainware Systems研究活動63附属研究施設 ブレインウェア研究開発施設
