Term | Tenure-Track Appointment of 6 years The tenure review will be completed at least 1 year before the end of the appointment term, and the candidate will be notified of the result in a timely manner. Candidates that successfully pass the tenure review will be appointed as a tenured assistant professor. If the tenure review finds the candidate to be exceptionally qualified, they may instead be promoted to a tenured senior assistant professor or tenured associate professor. |

Details | Location: Research Institute of Electical Communication, Tohoku University 2-1-1 Katahira, Aoba-ku, Sendai, Miyagi, Japan Working Hours: The Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work will be applied. A total of 7.75 hours is to be worked by the employee per day, with the time worked left to their own discretion. Employees are allowed breaks in accordance with Japanese labor laws. Salary: The annual salary system is applied. Research Funding | Recruitment for this position is part of the research strengthening initiatives of Tohoku University as a University for International Research Excellence. In line with this initiative, hired faculty members will be eligible for 2,000,000 JPY in start-up funding in their first year, to serve as a basis for managing research operations. |
