Professor SUZUKI Yôiti was awarded the Prize for Science and Technology in the research category of the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on April 20, 2016.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) aims to improve the level of Japanese science and technology by raising the aspirations of those engaged in them. To this end, the minister commends those who have achieved remarkable results in scientific and technological activities such as research and development and the promotion of their understanding.

The Prize for Science and Technology in the research category is awarded to those who pursue original research or development projects judged to have a high possibility of advancing Japanese science and technology.

In this year’s commendation, Professor SUZUKI is acknowledged for his research on the “Study of acoustic information processing to achieve a high sense-of-presence based on auditory perception processes.” The award ceremony will be held at the ministry on April 20, 2016.
