“The observation of optic Kerr effect in the waveguide medium under the single photonic strength”.
Among those who are on completion of the doctoral course in electronic engineering in 2008, “The observation of optic Kerr effect in the waveguide medium under the single photonic strength” by Mr. Nobuyuki Matsuda at Edamatsu-Kosaka Laboratory was selected as an especially excellent doctoral thesis and was awarded “The 2008 Graduate School of Engineering Award, Tohoku University“. This research, for the first time in the world, succeeded in the measurement of nonlinear phase shift in waveguide medium such as an optical fiber etc. at the level of the single photon. This research attracts much interest from many domestic and overseas researchers as the one that pioneers in the development of the optical computing device.
