Lecturer: Dr. Vladimir Mitin is a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, NY, USA. He is a Fellow of IEEE, APS, AAS, IoP, and SPIE. He is now visiting RIEC, Tohoku University, as a Visiting Professor. His research interests include: Nanoelectronic, Microelectric and Optoelectronic Devices and Materials; Transport and Noise in Heterostructures, Quantum Wells and Quantum Wires; Material Characterization; Heat Dissipation in Low-Dimensional Structures and Devices; Particle, Molecular Dynamics, and Monte Carlo Methods of Simulation of Lasers, Photodetectors, Terahertz Generators and Detectors, and Devices Based on Quantum Wells, Quantum Wires and Quantum Dots. He has authored and coauthored more than 240 peer-reviewed scientific journal papers, and holds 14 patents.
