Mr. Jorge Trevino of the Suzuki-Sakamoto laboratory has received a “Student Presentation Award” from the Acoustical Society of Japan.(March. 14, 2013)
The award is given to student members for outstanding paper presentations given at the biannual meetings of the Acoustical Society of Japan (ASJ).
Mr. Trevino received the distinction for his presentation titled “Extrapolation of Ambisonic recordings from stereo sources” at the Autumn 2012 meeting of the ASJ. In this talk the authors introduced a method to extract spatial information from standard stereo recordings and use it to synthesize a surrounding 360-degree acoustic scene.
