Prof. Noriharu Suematsu and Assoc. Prof. Suguru Kameda received the 2014 Special Technical Award in Smart Radio from Technical Committee on Smart Radio (TCSR), the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE).

The title of technology exhibit is “Satellite communication networks valid for disaster recovery: Development of multi-mode VSAT using SDR technology.” The cowinners are SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, ISB Corporation, Cyber Creative Institute and National Institute of Technology, Toyama College. This work was conducted under the national project, “Satellite communication network R&D against big disaster,” supported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan.
