講演題目：“Silicon Photonics for Optical Fiber Communication”
講演内容：Since Silicon is not a direct semiconductor it is still an unusual material for photonic applications. Even though, there is an increasing interest in Silicon Photonics with the final goal to have an common platform for combining electronic and photonic functionalities. In my talk I will review the activities on Silicon Photonics at the Technische Universitaet Berlin and the “Joint Lab – Silicon Photonics” (together with the Leibniz Institute IHP) with a special focus on opto-electronic receivers for high speed optical modulation formats based on phase-modulation. Furthermore waveguide based filter-devices in Silicon will be discussed.
